North Node Capricorn
THE NORTH NODE JOURNEY TO YOUR SOUL MISSION
By Linda Lee Adams
The North Node represents the valuable key towards understanding your soul mission. It provides meaning as part of a continual discovery of your life's journey. Learning about the north node in the signs lends access to the numerous ways you can experience more joy, happiness and inner harmony. In order to determine your soul potential take a look at the North Node and South Node chart in Linda Brady's book: “Discovering Your Soul Mission; How To Use Karmic Astrology To Create The Life You Want”, (chapter 4, pgs. 75-77). What do the nodal positions mean?
Firstly, learning about your south node is an equally important reference point as the south node is symbolic of your past; it is a combination of many incarnations. Below is a chart highlighting the Nodal Points:
| South Node |
North Node |
| Aries |
Libra |
| Taurus |
Scorpio |
| Gemini |
Sagittarius |
| Cancer |
Capricorn |
| Leo |
Aquarius |
| Virgo |
Pisces |
There are derivatives of past life experiences, attitudes, thoughts and energies that have led you to the current life. For instance, do you fall back on the familiar when challenges appear in your life? Have you seen someone that you just know you have met before? Do cosmic 2x4's hit you again and again with the same life lessons? Therefore, according to Martin Schulman, “the potentially weakest spot in any horoscope is the south node for it represents the footsteps we have left behind us,” (“Karmic Astrology”, p. 23).
Those with a North Node in Capricorn may welcome the opportunities to develop a goal-directed reality. Capricorn aspires to secure the comforts of the material world. With steadfast determination and a time-line of goals, it is monetary wealth that enhances the Capricorn's portfolio. An efficiently run office trimmed with oak wood and rustic shades of brown exhibits a formula for success.
Capricorn, therefore defines the rules for achievement which include the following: 1.) Obtaining the college degree 2.) Working long hours, 3.) Receiving the well-earned promotion and raise, and 4.) Being recognized at the annual board meeting as future CEO.
The symbol of the Mountain Goat rests with a solid reputation for deliberate patience and persistence. Its status conscious behaviors are important as it validates their splendid business sense. Simply stated, the Capricorn does not keep up with the neighbors next door; they are the neighbors next door.
Secondly, with a prudent sense of organization, the disciplined Capricorn will push itself to the top of the social ladder, as well hold their partner accountable to such social prestige. Capricorn takes loyalty and commitment very seriously; therefore, straying from the boundaries of a promise or a business deal would be unthinkable. With deep respect, Capricorn values its commitments, and expects the same in return. Moreover, the paternal dedication it brings to family, home and tradition is rooted in a practical and realistic manner. Capricorn is the dutiful hunter that provides for its family and protects its members from the perils of nightfall.
A third Capricorn theme is their foundation for living. It is built upon layers of hard-work, self-reliance, and diversified bank accounts. It understands the technique of a penny saved is a penny earned. It survives with a rational thought pattern that repeats the mantra; what you think will become. Considered the cosmic adult Capricorn determines what lacks high standards, and if it falls below the line of quality it will be cast aside quickly. Capricorn's tenacity for planning ahead involves the scrupulous details necessary to fulfill its purpose.
Along with Capricorn's responsible nature, its heightened maturity and wisdom have earned Capricorn the status of “The Spiritual Father”. The reputation as the wise old man adds character to every wrinkle; however, Capricorn may appear to be a bit rigid. Surprisingly, the Capricorn does have a sense of humor. With few words Capricorn presents with dry, somewhat dour comments that are extremely funny. So it follows that the Mountain Goat will no doubt structure a plan for living using its wit. Capricorn realizes that stepping through the valleys of life becomes an investment for reaching the mountaintop.
“Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
