Uranus symbolizes intense change and disruption that will create an awareness of any Piscean beliefs that we need to alter and transform. It will help us awaken to the new paradigm that is the Age of Aquarius. Intense transformational events will occur to accomplish this. When we do not actively pursue these profound changes within ourselves, Uranus "stops our world" through disruptive, often tragic events. The increase in frequency and ferocity of hurricanes is one of these phenomenons. The tsunami and Hurricane Katrina have caused unprecedented shifts and changes in the human condition, not only for the areas they affected, but within us.

We have felt incredibly sad, angry and scared. Our hearts have been broken and then expanded to a deeper compassion and love for our fellow humans. We have blamed the government for not doing enough fast enough; we have blamed engineers for not building better levees; planners for not strengthening them; we may even have blamed God for "smiting his people." We have sent money to the Red Cross, and gathered food, and clothes to send to the Gulf States. We have felt helpless, hopeless and maybe even a little guilty that we are comfortable in our safe homes with enough to eat. All normal,human reactions.

I believe to truly honor those who are personally living through this historic moment; we need to also spiritually share it. We are all one in this; we have brought this into our hearts and minds by watching the tragedy unfold in our safe living rooms hundreds of miles away. As we extend our heart centers by providing financial, material, emotional and intellectual support, let us not forget to look for personal meaning and significance in this Uranus in Pisces experience. Why did my soul create this tragedy? What changes do I need to make and what actions will support those changes? Do I know enough about my unconscious beliefs that do not support my living in the Age of Aquarius?
